I know of AJ Madison because when I was doing appliances research at smaller stores, they all go thru AJMadison.com to order. I was doing some google map search since I would like to see the real thing before making a decision, I came across the showroom. The location is quite remote as nothing really goes there but because of that, they are able to build a 2-story showroom with a lot more items than a regular store would have.
I specifically needed to look at cooktops. AJ Madison has the most and best selections. I'd say it's a great place to start. Their products range from very cheap to very expensive so I am sure you can find something. I am not sure how good or bad the post-purchase customer service is, but I am sure you will be able to find something that you are looking for.
